Kurama Temple

Hello, this is Chin.

This time I would like to introduce the Kurama Temple.
It is located a bit far from Kyoto city in the Kurama mountains.

Because it is located in the calm and surrounded by nature,
You can enjoy the tradition and history.
It is recommended for the traveler who wants to enjoy simple tracking.

It is about 30 minutes from Demachiyanagi Station if you take the Eizan electric railway.

Also, you can enjoy the mountains and the cities' scenery.

We walk from Kurama Station to the temple.

Even though there are stairs and hills, you feel the fresh air as you walk because cedar trees surround both sides.
The calm, peaceful atmosphere will refresh your mind.

The Kurama Temple was built around 770.
The triad of Bishamonten, the Thousand-Armed Kannon Bodhisattva,
and Gohomaoson are its primary deities.
The Tengu story of Mount Kurama is also well-known,
and the surroundings of the shrine have a mystical feel.

Kurama Temple is close to Kibune, which is only just a quick trip away.
After taking in scenery along the way, you will reach Kibune Shrine after an hour and a half hike.
This well-known spot offers Kawadoko cuisine and river views.

From Demachiyanagi, it takes about 30 minutes by train.

Kurama-dera Temple is a unique location where you can explore
nature, history, and legend in half a day.

Make sure to visit while you're there to refresh your body and mind.
