Shimogamo Shrine (First visit of new year)

Happy New Year!
I'm Takahashi from Risshisha.
It has been about a year since I started
working at Risshisha in February of last year.

Looking back, it's gone by so fast, and I've only
been able to keep going with a lot of support.
I sincerely hope you will continue to support me
as I try to grow even more this year.

Now that the new year began,
I quickly went to Shimogamo Shrine to thank God
for last year and to offer prayers for my family's safety,
well-being, and happiness.
It was crowded, as was to be expected,
and as I made my way through the rows of food stalls,
a big, stunning torii gate popped into my view.
I felt strong just by looking at it, and it was really lovely.

After our family went to the shrine to find out our zodiac signs,
we all drew our water fortune papers.
I thought these unique fortune papers were fun for both adults and kids,
and the youngsters seemed really delighted to see the letters that appeared
when they dipped the papers into water. They are fantastic!

Lastly, I want to thank you once more for your
ongoing help during the new year.
I hope everyone has a wonderful year.
