Speaking of souvenirs from Kyoto....

Hello this is Yamori from Risshisha.

This time, let's talk about Kyoto souvenirs of Japanese sweets made with red bean paste! Introducing the top three.
I think that many people visit Kyoto to view sights and buy souvenirs before returning home.

Among these, we'd like to highlight only Japanese sweets made with red bean paste and available only in Kyoto.

① Bean Daifuku of "Demachi Futaba"

Demachiyanagi Station, on the Keihan Line,
is close to Shimogamo Shrine, a popular spot for tourists.
The mochi is amazing, and the beans have a great texture andtaste.
The sweetness comes first, then the salty taste comes next,
making it the nice flavor!

Other than Mame Daifuku, they sell a variety of other products,
so you may buy here and take home or enjoy along the Kamogawa River.

Demachiyanagi Station (Exit 5) on the Keihan Main Line is a seven-minute walk away,
passing Kawai Bridge and Demachi Bridge.

Take Kyoto city bus no 4・7・59 stop at  [Kawaramachi Imadegawa] bus stop then walk about 2 minutes.
Take Kyoto city bus no 205 from Kyoto Station, or 37/205 from Kawaramachi.
Stop at [Aoibashi Nishizume] bus stop 339m from Demachiyanagi Station.

② Mangetsu of "Ajari Mochi"
You can enjoy the freshly made Ajari mochi limited,
which is only available at Demachiyanagi's main store!
It is also available to buy at Kyoto Station as a souvenir, but it sells out quickly.
The outer layer is crunchy, and the bean paste within is not too sweet,
making it great when served with green tea!

This is a must-have item for Kyoto souvenirs.

③"Imanishiken" Ohagi
I don't have a photo of this one, but if you're ever near Kyoto Station, this is a must-visit restaurant.
Shops that only offer ohagi may sell out as early as the morning! Reservations are also possible.
There are three types: ''Koshian'', ''Takuan'', and ''Kinako'',
and the sizes are good,so you can eat one of each.

Kinako : rice balls coated with soy flour and filled with red bean paste. The soy flour is also tasty and
recommended for those who love soy flour and red bean paste.

Takuan: The grained red bean paste has the flavor of azuki beans, and the dough is made of small rice crumbs that stay tightly bound together.
It's just sweet enough, and you can definitely taste the bean paste.

Koshian: The koshian is perfectly sweet and tasty, and the seasoning is not too strong
or too light in contrast to the rice dough inside, making this a great food!

Why not try to take a walk from Kyoto Station?
