Kyoto Gourmet ①

Hello!
This is Yamori from Risshisha.

This time, we'll talk about two frequently asked topics from guests lately.
How to get around to Pontocho and recommended shops!

With a long history running back to the Edo period,
Pontocho is a popular red-light district in Kyoto
that attracts tourists from all over the world.
With the view of Higashiyama and the Kamogawa River,
this historical townscape, which includes the culture of the red-light district,
makes a unique scene that captures both elegance and energy, charming people over.

It seems that a lot of tourists plan to have meals
at Pontocho when they travel to Kyoto.

So "Honke Kyo Motsunabe Kamehachi'' is highly recommended
since it's perfect during this cold winter.
The soup is made using a combination of white miso from Kyoto, bonito and kelp stock from Kyoto,
and beef bone soup made by boiling cow bones for quite a while.
Kyoto-only "Namafu'' is also included, so you can enjoy goods from Kyoto!

If you want to enjoy a meal at this popular restaurant,
we suggest making a reservation first.

There are many stores nearby, so be sure to choose one that meets your taste.
Kochia's shop is located on a back road in the middle of Pontocho,
so you can take in the cityscape before you visit.
Come find a shop and check it out!
