MUCA展

Hello this is Tanaka
From Risshisha!

This time I went to [MUCA展], so I would like to report it.

Let's start by defining "MUCA."
(MUCA) is an acronym for
"Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art,
an art museum in Germany.
There are a lot of artworks, mostly street art,
on display that express political and social messages.

This time, ten artists, including Banksy, came to Japan.

KAWS is one of my favorites, and I was very excited about it.

It is located near Heian Shrine in the "Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art,
New Building Higashiyama Cube.".
Please be careful; it seems like the museum is closed on Mondays.
I went there without checking and once had to turn away at the door.

You feel the "breath" in each of the several pieces
that are on display all over the area.
A lot of people, like myself, stood in front of the huge pieces
and stared at them; many of the pieces inspired thought in me.

For me, the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the name "Banksy" is
a "street artist who draws pictures on walls."
The fact that there were sculptures and huge paintings surprised me.
It had such an impact on me that my view of Banksy,
the artist, was slightly changed.

If I post too many photos, it will become a spoiler,
so I'll share some of the works that have already been released.

The event will take place in Kyoto until January 8, 2024.
It's that popular artwork in front of me.
I recommend it because this seems like a fantasy,
and this is your one chance to see the real thing.

How about taking a trip to Kyoto along with visiting the MUCA exhibition?
